Delicious Paneer Jalebi Recipe for a Unique Diwali Treat

Ingredients Needed for Paneer Jalebi

Paneer - 100 grams (finely mashed)

Maida - 2 tablespoons
Cornflour - 1 tablespoon
Sugar - 1 cup (for syrup)
Water - 1/2 cup (for syrup)
Cardamom powder - a pinch (for syrup)
Yogurt - 1 teaspoon (for fermentation)
Ghee/oil - for frying

Steps to Prepare Paneer Jalebi
Begin by taking a large mixing bowl. Combine the mashed paneer, maida, cornflour, and yogurt.
Gradually add water to create a thick and smooth batter.

The batter should be dense enough to be dispensed from a piping bag or sauce bottle.
Cover the mixture and allow it to rest for 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
In a separate pan, combine sugar and water, and heat until the sugar fully dissolves, creating a slightly sticky syrup. Avoid making it too thick like gulab jamun syrup; a light stickiness is ideal.
Once done, remove from heat and stir in the cardamom powder.
In another pan, heat ghee or oil, as ghee adds a rich flavor.

Transfer the prepared batter into a sauce bottle or a ziplock bag (with a small hole cut out).
Shape the jalebi by swirling them in the medium-hot oil.
Fry on low to medium heat until they turn golden and crispy.
Immediately immerse the fried jalebi in the warm syrup for 1-2 minutes.
Remove and place on a plate, garnishing with chopped pistachios or almonds before serving to your guests.
