Why SS Rajamouli is Celebrating ISRO's New Rocket Named After Baahubali

A Historic Moment for India and Baahubali

New Delhi: Renowned director SS Rajamouli, who recently brought back Baahubali to theaters, expressed his excitement over the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) naming one of its rockets after a character from the film, describing it as a significant honor for the entire production team.

India celebrated a remarkable achievement in its space journey as ISRO successfully launched its most substantial communication satellite, CMS-03, on Monday. This satellite is designed to boost telecommunication and broadcasting capabilities and was propelled into orbit by ISRO's most formidable launch vehicle, affectionately dubbed ‘Baahubali.’

In a post on X, the filmmaker congratulated ISRO, stating, "Congratulations to #ISRO on the successful launch of the heaviest communication satellite CMS-03 today! A proud moment for India, showcasing our technological strength and self-reliance in space exploration. Onwards and upwards!"

He further added, "Our entire Baahubali team is elated as @ISRO fondly named this rocket ‘Bahubali’ due to its heaviness and strength… Truly a privilege for all of us."

The film features a stellar cast including Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah Bhatia, Anushka Shetty, Sathyaraj, Ramya Krishnan, and Nassar.

Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion, which first hit theaters in 2015, were re-released in a remastered format on October 31. The films have already grossed nearly Rs 25 crore within three days of their re-release, adding to their original global box office collection of over 2000 crore.
