Exciting Release of 'Eetha'


New Delhi: The highly anticipated film Eetha, starring Shraddha Kapoor, is scheduled for release on August 28. This movie is inspired by the life of the renowned Marathi Lavani dancer, Vithabai Narayangaonkar.


Alongside Kapoor, the film features notable actors Randeep Hooda and Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub. It is produced by Dinesh Vijan's Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, as stated in a recent press announcement.


This project marks a reunion for Kapoor and Vijan, who previously worked together on the successful Stree series. Vijan and Utekar have also collaborated on the film Chhaava, which starred Vicky Kaushal.


At the box office, Eetha will compete with Vvan – Force of the Forest, featuring Sidharth Malhotra and Tamannaah Bhatia.


Vithabai Narayangaonkar gained fame as a pivotal figure in Maharashtra's folk theatre, enchanting audiences with her Lavani and Tamasha performances. She received two prestigious medals from the President of India in 1957 and 1990 for her outstanding contributions to folk art.


Kapoor's most recent appearance was in the 2024 film Stree 2, which is a sequel to the original 2018 hit.
