Varun Dhawan Unveils Intense Look in Upcoming War Film 'Border 2'
First Look of 'Border 2' Revealed
Mumbai: The production team behind Border 2 has just released the first look of Varun Dhawan, showcasing him in a gripping battlefield scenario.
T-Series Films shared the poster on Instagram, depicting a dramatic war scene with Varun portraying an Indian soldier, looking rugged and determined in military attire, complete with ammunition.
The caption read: “Border uska farz hai aur Bharat uska pyaar!”
This poster provides a captivating preview of Varun's transformation for the iconic war film Border 2, which is scheduled to premiere on January 23, 2026.
Varun also posted the image on his Instagram, captioning it: 'Desh ka sipahi PVC Hoshiyar Singh Dahiya. #Border2 in cinemas 23rd January, 2026.'
Directed by Anurag Singh, Border 2 features a stellar cast including Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, Ahan Shetty, Medha Rana, Mona Singh, and Sonam Bajwa, produced by Bhushan Kumar, JP Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta.
This film serves as a sequel to the 1997 war drama Border, and it is believed to be inspired by the Kargil War between India and Pakistan in 1999.
While the original Border focused on the Battle of Longewala, Border 2 is expected to depict the Kargil conflict, which involved Pakistani troops crossing the Line of Control (LoC) and occupying parts of Indian territory.
Border 2 is produced by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in collaboration with J.P. Dutta’s J.P. Films. The film aims to honor the bravery and spirit of Indian soldiers.
In related news, Varun Dhawan is also set to appear in David Dhawan’s upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, alongside Pooja Hegde and Mrunal Thakur, which is slated for release on June 5 next year.
The title of this new drama is inspired by the popular song 'Hai Jawani Toh Pyaar Hona Hai' from David Dhawan's film Biwi No 1, featuring stars like Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, and Sushmita Sen.
This film is expected to blend humor with romance, telling the story of a man who faces rejection from multiple women but finds unexpected help from divine intervention.
