Director RJ Balaji, along with the crew of Karuppu, embarked on a tour throughout Tamil Nadu to experience firsthand the incredible reception of their film featuring Suriya. The production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, and RJ Balaji shared moments from their success journey, which included visits to cinemas and significant locations across the state. A highlight of the tour was Madurai, famously known as the city that never sleeps. RJ Balaji expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support received for his film, which co-stars Trisha Krishnan and was released in theaters on May 15.
RJ Balaji Expresses Gratitude After 'Karuppu' Tour
Over the last three days, RJ Balaji traveled extensively across Tamil Nadu, visiting cities like Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode, Dindigul, and Trichy, and even made a stop in Mumbai earlier this week. In a post on Instagram, he shared that he covered 1,200 kilometers, visited 11 districts, attended 14 centers, and participated in 15 screenings of Karuppu. He expressed his thanks to God, the audience, and his dedicated fans, stating, "Unbelievable love and unforgettable core memory unlocked..!!! Am truly humbled and grateful."
A video released by Dream Warrior Pictures showcased RJ Balaji interacting with fans in the sacred city of Madurai, where the team also visited a temple for prayers. A memorable moment captured in RJ Balaji's post features him holding a baby dressed as Suriya's character from Karuppu, complete with a fake moustache.

Insights on 'Karuppu'
In addition to directing, RJ Balaji plays a significant role in Karuppu as a corrupt lawyer named Bay Kannan, who deceives a man (Indrans) and his family. The narrative unfolds as Suriya portrays Karuppan, a revered guardian deity who descends to Earth to deliver justice and impart essential life lessons. The film also stars Natty Subramaniam, Swasika, Sshivada, Supreeth Reddy, and Yogi Babu. Trisha plays the character Preethi, with her voice dubbed by Chinmayi Sripada. RJ Balaji co-wrote the script alongside Ashwin Ravichandran, Rahul Raj, TS Gopi Krishnan, and Karan Aravind Kumar.
