Renowned South Indian actor Ram Charan and the iconic composer AR Rahman graced the grand music launch of Peddi, which took place at Dussehra Maidan in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, on Saturday. The event also saw the presence of Janhvi Kapoor and other cast members from the sports drama. During a lively interaction, Ram Charan was prompted to describe notable cricketers in just a few words. He referred to Sachin Tendulkar as having a "long legendary run," while he described MS Dhoni as "calm and cool." Regarding Rohit Sharma, he stated, "He's everybody's man," and for Virat Kohli, he simply said, "Fire." When it came to Jasprit Bumrah, he expressed his admiration, calling himself his biggest fan. However, in a humorous slip, he mistakenly mentioned his love for football while praising Bumrah, which quickly became a trending topic on social media.

Shortly after the event, Ram Charan took to social media to apologize for the mix-up. He wrote, "Uff… I’m genuinely so forgetful with names sometimes. Apologies to @Jaspritbumrah93 Ji for the mix-up - it was a genuine human error in the middle of all the excitement and the crowd." He emphasized his respect for Bumrah and expressed pride in how he consistently challenges batsmen.

Ram Charan Declares 'Peddi' His Top Film

Throughout the event, Ram Charan made a commendable effort to communicate in Hindi, endearing himself to the audience. He expressed his enthusiasm for his upcoming sports drama, stating in Hindi, "Mere film ke library jitna bhi films ho, magar Peddi no 1 film hoga. So thank you, humara mehnat aur humara dil bhi mehsoon kijiye is film ke dauraan (No matter how many films are there in my film library, Peddi will be the number one film for me. So thank you, and please also feel the hard work and heart we have put into this film)." Directed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Vriddhi Cinemas, Mythri Movie Makers, and IVY Entertainment, Peddi is scheduled for theatrical release on June 4, 2026. The film features Shiva Rajkumar, Divyendu Sharma, and Jagapathi Babu, with music composed by AR Rahman and cinematography by R Rathnavelu. The recently unveiled trailer offers fans a sneak peek into the film's grand sports narrative, showcasing transformations as a cricketer, wrestler, and runner.
