8th Pay Commission's Visit to Bhubaneswar

Update on the 8th Pay Commission: The 8th Central Pay Commission (8th CPC) is set to visit Bhubaneswar, Odisha, for discussions with various stakeholders, including central government entities, employee unions, and other associations. These meetings are scheduled for July 6 and 7, 2026, as part of the Commission's nationwide consultation initiative aimed at formulating its recommendations.

As per an official announcement made on May 26, 2026, organizations and associations interested in engaging with the Commission during its visit to Odisha must submit their applications online by the specified deadline. The Commission has indicated that stakeholders wishing to meet its members during the Bhubaneswar visit can request appointments through the official online portal on the 8th CPC website. All applications must be completed by May 31, 2026.

The notice stated, “Stakeholders interested in meeting the 8th Pay Commission during its Bhubaneswar visit can submit an appointment request through the designated online link available on the official 8th CPC website by May 31, 2026.” It has been clarified that only eligible organizations, institutions, unions, and associations associated with central government employees will be considered for meetings during this visit.

Mandatory Memorandum Submission for Stakeholders

The Commission has mandated that applicants submit a memorandum prior to requesting an appointment. Stakeholders must provide the ‘unique memo ID’ generated after uploading their memorandum on the official 8th Pay Commission portal. This requirement aims to facilitate the Commission's consultations and to review the key demands, concerns, and recommendations presented by employee representatives before formal discussions.

Additionally, the 8th CPC has announced similar consultation schedules for Srinagar, Ladakh, and Lucknow as part of its outreach efforts across various states and Union Territories. Previous notifications confirmed that meetings will take place in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttar Pradesh during June 2026. The Commission plans to visit Srinagar from June 1 to June 4, with interactions in Ladakh scheduled for June 8.

For the Lucknow meetings, the Commission has invited central government organizations, institutions, and unions located in Uttar Pradesh to apply for appointments. Venue details and specific schedules will be communicated separately to the selected stakeholders. The Commission has also indicated that further consultations in other states and Union Territories will be organized in the upcoming months.
