KKR Signs Luvnith Sisodia as Replacement for Injured Matheesha Pathirana in IPL 2026
KKR Welcomes Luvnith Sisodia
The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have officially signed Luvnith Sisodia to fill in for the injured Matheesha Pathirana for the remainder of the 2026 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Pathirana has been sidelined due to a hamstring injury.
Luvnith Sisodia, a wicketkeeper-batter hailing from Karnataka, has prior experience in the IPL, having played for both the Royal Challengers Bengaluru and KKR. In his T20 career, he has participated in 15 matches, accumulating a total of 124 runs. His contract with KKR is valued at Rs 30 lakh.
Pathirana's Challenging Season
Matheesha Pathirana's IPL 2026 season has been marred by injuries. After being acquired by KKR for a substantial Rs 18 crore, the Sri Lankan fast bowler faced setbacks, missing the initial matches due to a calf injury sustained during the T20 World Cup. Although he made his long-awaited debut for KKR, his season was abruptly halted again due to a new hamstring injury.
