Delhi Capitals Aim High with 204 Runs

In Kolkata, West Bengal, on May 24, the Delhi Capitals have established a formidable target of 204 runs for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) during their final league match of IPL 2026 at Eden Gardens.

KL Rahul stood out as the sole player from DC to surpass the 50-run milestone, contributing significantly to the team's total of 203/5, aided by late innings performances from David Miller and Ashutosh Sharma.

Opting to bat first, the DC openers quickly amassed 40 runs for the initial wicket. Abishek Porel struck four boundaries before being dismissed by Saurabh Dubey in the fifth over.

Sahil Parakh followed, scoring 24 runs off 17 balls, including three fours and a six, before Sunil Narine caught him out while attempting a big shot.

KL Rahul continued to dominate from the other end, scoring 60 runs off just 30 balls, featuring four sixes and five fours, until Anukul Roy claimed his wicket in the 13th over.

Captain Axar Patel contributed a brisk 39 runs off 25 balls, hitting three fours and two sixes, and formed a crucial partnership of 41 runs for the fourth wicket with David Miller before being dismissed by Varun Chakaravarthy.

In the death overs, Ashutosh Sharma added 35 runs alongside Miller, who hit two sixes in the final over before being dismissed. Miller finished with 29 runs off 18 balls, while Ashutosh remained not out on 18, leading DC to a total of 203/5 after 20 overs.

Kartik Tyagi had a tough outing for KKR, conceding 55 runs in his four overs without taking a wicket. Sunil Narine, Chakaravarthy, and Roy each took one wicket, while Saurabh Dubey claimed two.

Although both teams are out of playoff contention, a victory at Eden Gardens would enhance their standings on the points table.
