Ao Tanaka's equalizer came in the dying moments of the game, just six minutes into stoppage time, after Leeds had been trailing 3-2.

With this result, Leeds United moved up to 16th place in the Premier League standings, having achieved five victories, four draws, and three losses across 15 matches. Meanwhile, Liverpool climbed to eighth position, recording seven wins, two draws, and six defeats in the same number of games.

The first half saw Liverpool create two significant chances, with Curtis Jones hitting the crossbar and Virgil van Dijk missing a header from a free-kick taken by Szoboszlai, leaving the score at 0-0 at halftime.

The second half began with a bang as Hugo Ekitike netted the first goal for Liverpool in the 48th minute. Just two minutes later, he scored again, capitalizing on a low cross from Conor Bradley after dispossessing Gabriel Gudmundsson, putting Liverpool ahead 2-0.
