Kerala Blasters FC's Impressive Win

Bambolim (Goa) [India], November 3: In a commanding performance, Kerala Blasters FC secured a 3-0 victory over Sporting Club Delhi during their second match in the AIFF Super Cup 2025-26 Group D at the GMC Stadium on Monday. All three goals were netted in the first half.

Koldo Obieta was the star of the match, scoring twice in the 17th and 23rd minutes, while Korou Singh Thingujam added a spectacular goal in the 34th minute, leading Kerala Blasters to a decisive win. This victory places the Blasters at the top of their group with six points from two games, effectively eliminating SC Delhi from the tournament and bolstering Kerala's chances for a semi-final spot.

The Blasters showcased a well-rounded performance characterized by solid defense, inventive midfield play, and a potent attack. Under the guidance of head coach David Catala, the team maintained control from the outset, displaying fluid ball movement and high pressing that challenged SC Delhi's five-man defense.

Early in the match, Adrian Luna's corner kick found Juan Rodriguez, whose header struck the crossbar, setting an energetic tone for the first half. Noah Sadaoui was a constant threat in attack, while Nihal Sudheesh's speed kept SC Delhi on the defensive.

The breakthrough came in the 17th minute when a careless back pass from Delhi's Ayush Adhikari was intercepted by Koldo Obieta. The Spanish forward made no mistake, firing a right-footed shot past goalkeeper Vishal Yadav, who managed to get a hand on the ball but couldn't prevent it from crossing the line.

Just five minutes later, Obieta scored again, doubling the lead. Following a series of precise passes, Korou set up Nihal, who then assisted Obieta, allowing him to evade the SC Delhi defenders and slot the ball into the bottom corner, making it 2-0.

The third goal, which was the highlight of the match, came in the 34th minute. Captain Luna delivered a beautifully lofted pass into the box, where Korou Singh executed an acrobatic finish, directing a right-footed shot into the far corner.

Sporting Club Delhi struggled throughout the first half, failing to register a single shot on target as they returned to the locker room. Their defensive setup appeared weak, and their midfield could not keep pace with the Blasters' rhythm.

In the second half, Augustine Lalrochana nearly found a consolation goal in the 88th minute, but his attempt was thwarted by Nora Fernandes, preserving Kerala Blasters' clean sheet.
