Yogi Adityanath's Remarks on Rahul Gandhi
On Tuesday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath took aim at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, asserting that just as the Congress party questioned Lord Ram and the Ram Temple, Gandhi's 'young prince' is now casting doubts on Chhath Maiya. Speaking at an election rally in Samastipur, CM Yogi stated, "...Under PM Modi's leadership, Bihar is witnessing development. However, the agendas of RJD and Congress do not include the progress of Bihar. Just as Congress raised questions about Lord Ram and the Ram Temple, the Congress 'young prince' is now questioning Chhath Maiya..."
This statement followed Rahul Gandhi's remarks in Darbhanga, where he accused the BJP of staging a 'drama' by creating a separate pond for PM Modi to bathe during Chhath Puja. Gandhi commented, "PM Modi claimed he would bathe in the Yamuna for Chhath. The water in the Yamuna is filthy. Anyone who drinks it would either fall ill or die. No one can enter it. The water is so polluted that if you step in, you would get sick or infected. But Modi staged a drama. He had a small pond constructed there. During elections, they will show you anything. A pipe is connected from behind, pouring clean water into it. The issue arose when someone took a picture of the pipe."
Meanwhile, the main contest in Bihar's elections is between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Grand Alliance. The NDA comprises the Bharatiya Janata Party, Janata Dal (United), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular), and the Rashtriya Lok Morcha. The Grand Alliance, led by the Rashtriya Janata Dal, includes the Congress Party, the Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) led by Dipankar Bhattacharya, the Communist Party of India (CPI), the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI-M), and Mukesh Sahni's Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP). Additionally, Prashant Kishor's Jan Suraj Party has claimed to contest all 243 seats in the state. The assembly elections will take place in two phases on November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
