Udhayanidhi Stalin Criticizes Congress Amid Rising Tensions in Tamil Nadu
Udhayanidhi Stalin's Strong Words Against Congress
In Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, a leader of the DMK and secretary of its youth wing, has launched a fierce attack on the Congress party. This controversy erupted after Congress expressed support for the government led by Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay's party, TVK. During a party event, Udhayanidhi stated that the DMK should never trust Congress again. He accused Congress leaders of lacking basic gratitude and courtesy, despite the DMK's hard work and the leadership of MK Stalin leading to electoral victories.
Allegations of Betrayal
Udhayanidhi Stalin further accused Congress of betrayal, asserting, "The victory of five Congress MLAs was due to the efforts of DMK workers. The public voted for them because they wanted MK Stalin as Chief Minister. However, today, driven by greed for positions, they have left us without notice. We should never trust Congress again. The people of Tamil Nadu will soon teach them a harsh lesson."
Congress Blamed for BJP's Rise
He also held Congress responsible for the rise of the BJP across the country. Udhayanidhi remarked, "Initially, I believed that the victories of the BJP were due to Prime Minister Modi and Amit Shah. However, it has now become clear that the real reason for the BJP's emergence in India is the weaknesses of Congress. Our leader MK Stalin had previously supported Congress, but they have betrayed us."
DMK Labels Congress as a 'Leech'
This statement reflects the growing animosity between the DMK and Congress. During a DMK meeting, several resolutions were passed, labeling Congress as a backstabber and a leech that thrives on the hard work of its allies. Additionally, Udhayanidhi urged the party's youth workers to engage with first-time voters and raise political awareness among them.
Predictions of Government Collapse
On another front, DMK president and former Chief Minister MK Stalin claimed that the TVK government would not complete its five-year term. He stated, "They only have the support of 120 MLAs. In their attempt to increase their numbers, they tried to break the AIADMK but failed. Their situation is akin to a 'cat sitting on a wall.' This government could fall any day now."
Criticism of Other Coalition Parties
MK Stalin also criticized leftist and other regional parties (CPI, CPM, VCK, and IUML) that previously supported the government from outside but have now joined the cabinet. He quipped, "Just as children quickly tire of new toys, the people of Tamil Nadu will soon grow weary of this actor's (Vijay's) rule. They will return to us just like children return to their mothers."
