Successful Rescue Operations by Railway Protection Force

Guwahati, Nov 3: The Railway Protection Force (RPF) of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has made significant strides in protecting vulnerable travelers and tackling human trafficking, successfully rescuing 10 minors last week.

According to Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, the Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of NFR, the rescues took place between October 25 and 30, involving seven boys and three girls from various stations within NFR's operational area.

All the rescued minors were safely returned to Childline authorities, NGOs, their families, and local law enforcement for further assistance and rehabilitation.

On October 25, RPF teams from Dimapur (Nagaland) and Chaparmukh (Assam) executed significant rescue missions, successfully locating three runaway minors—two boys and one girl.

These children were subsequently handed over to the appropriate Childline authorities for their protection and care.

From October 27 to 30, additional rescue operations were carried out by RPF teams from Agartala, Dimapur, Kishanganj, and Alipurduar Junction.

During these efforts, three boys were rescued from Dimapur, two from Alipurduar Junction, and one girl each from Agartala and Kishanganj stations.

All rescued minors were again transferred to the relevant Childline authorities for their safety and well-being.

The CPRO emphasized the importance of the “Meri Saheli” initiative, which aims to enhance the safety and security of women passengers, especially those traveling alone. The dedicated female squads of the RPF have been actively engaged and vigilant in this regard.

Their ongoing efforts have significantly contributed to creating a safer travel atmosphere for women across the NFR network.

The Northeast Frontier Railway serves the Northeastern states, along with seven districts in West Bengal and five districts in North Bihar.
