Massive Participation Marks 75th Fit India Sundays on Cycle Event

The 75th Fit India Sundays on Cycle event saw an impressive turnout across over 8,000 locations in the country, coinciding with Commonwealth Games Day and generating excitement for the upcoming 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad.


Ahmedabad's Festive Atmosphere

The celebration in Ahmedabad, themed 'A New Icon for a Fitter India - Pedalling to 2030,' featured a vibrant 5-kilometre cycling rally, along with Yoga and Zumba sessions, transforming the Sabarmati Riverfront into a hub of fitness and cultural celebration.


A significant highlight was the launch of a Commonwealth Games-themed exhibition by Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, which showcased India's sports achievements and the development of sports infrastructure under the Khelo India Mission.


Engaging Activities for All Ages

Participants enjoyed a variety of activities, including pickleball, box cricket, volleyball, tug of war, and interactive community games, creating a festive environment for attendees of all ages.


Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana joined former Commonwealth Games medallists and Olympians, motivating young participants and promoting a culture of fitness among India's youth.


Dignitaries and Cultural Highlights

The event was graced by notable figures such as Ajay Patel from the Indian Olympic Association and Olympic shooter Gagan Narang, among others.


A unique cultural performance blended Garba with Yoga, presented by artist Anish Rangrej, while Pawan Kumar from the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga provided wellness consultations.


Momentum for CWG 2030

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports (MYAS) plans to continue organizing community-driven initiatives to enhance public engagement and strengthen India's sports ecosystem as the country prepares for the historic centenary Commonwealth Games in 2030.


These celebrations aim to raise awareness about the Commonwealth Games and encourage youth to adopt active and healthy lifestyles.
