Supreme Court Hearing on Audio Evidence in Manipur Violence
The National Forensic Science University has informed the Supreme Court that the audio recordings allegedly connecting former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh to the ethnic unrest have been tampered with, rendering them unsuitable for voice comparison. Consequently, the laboratory stated it cannot confirm whether the voice in the recordings belongs to Singh. The court was reviewing a petition from a Kuki group seeking an independent investigation into these audio clips.
In the recordings, purportedly from 2023, a voice resembling Singh claims responsibility for instigating the conflict, boasting about defying Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s directive against using 'bombs' and protecting individuals who seized thousands of weapons from police stores.
Enforcement Directorate Targets Anil Ambani's Assets
The Enforcement Directorate has seized 40 properties valued at approximately Rs 3,000 crore linked to Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group as part of a money-laundering investigation. These assets include Ambani's residence in Mumbai, the Reliance Centre in Delhi, and various properties across regions including Mumbai, Pune, Thane, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kancheepuram, and East Godavari in Andhra Pradesh.
This investigation stems from two FIRs filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation in September 2022, concerning loans issued by Yes Bank to two of the conglomerate's firms.
It is alleged that around Rs 3,000 crore in loans obtained from the bank between 2017 and 2019 were improperly redirected to shell companies and subsidiaries of the group with the intent to misappropriate the funds.

Former U.S. President Donald Trump stated in an interview with CBS News that Pakistan is among the nations actively conducting nuclear tests. He made this remark while defending his decision to resume U.S. nuclear trials for the first time since 1992, citing China, Russia, North Korea, and Pakistan as countries involved in such activities.
When questioned about the uncertainty surrounding Pakistan's nuclear tests, Trump asserted, “Of course they have,” adding that these tests are often conducted underground, away from public scrutiny.
However, he did not provide any evidence to support his claims regarding Pakistan's nuclear testing activities.
