Elderly Farmer and Son Murdered Over Land Dispute in Maharashtra
Tragic Incident in Latur District
In a shocking incident in Latur district of Maharashtra, two individuals have been accused of murdering an elderly farmer and his son due to a land dispute. Authorities reported this development on Wednesday.
The police discovered the bodies of the victims in the village of Rudha under the Ahmedpur tehsil, leading to the arrest of two suspects.
Shivraj Nivrutti Suranar, aged 70, and his 20-year-old son, Vishwanath Shivraj Suranar, had gone to sleep in their field hut around 9:30 PM on Monday, as per their usual routine.
An officer from the Ahmedpur police station revealed that shortly after, the assailants attacked them with sharp weapons, inflicting multiple injuries to their faces, necks, and heads. The attackers discarded the bodies near a water tank in the village.
Upon receiving information on Tuesday morning, the police arrived at the scene. Forensic experts and a dog squad were summoned to gather evidence.
The police have arrested Narshingh Bhau Rao Shinde, 60, and Kerba Narshingh Shinde, 22, both residents of the same village, on charges of murdering the farmer and his son over the land dispute.
Local residents noted that a similar attack occurred last year on an elderly couple in the same village.
