Key Speakers for the Upcoming Debate


Guwahati, Dec 7: The Congress party is preparing for a significant debate in the Lok Sabha on December 8, marking the 150th anniversary of the national song, Vande Mataram. Notable speakers expected to participate include Congress deputy leader Gaurav Gogoi, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Deepender Hooda, and A Bimol Akoijam, as per party insiders.


Additionally, Praniti Shinde, Prashant Padole, Chamala Reddy, and Jyotsana Mahant are also anticipated to contribute to the discussion.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi will kick off the debate in the Lok Sabha at noon, while Home Minister Amit Shah will lead the conversation in the Rajya Sabha on December 9. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other ministers are also slated to engage in this extensive debate.


The final speaker in the Lok Sabha will be a representative from the ruling BJP, according to sources.


On October 1, a Union Cabinet meeting chaired by Modi sanctioned nationwide celebrations to honor the 150-year legacy of Vande Mataram, acknowledging its pivotal role in India's struggle for independence.

Vande Mataram, originally composed in Sanskrit by Bankimchandra Chatterji, was first featured in his novel Anandamath and later emerged as a powerful anthem during India's freedom movement.
