Assam Chief Minister Reviews Construction Progress of Assam Bhawan in New Delhi

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma recently inspected the construction of the Assam Bhawan in New Delhi. During his visit, he evaluated the pace and quality of the work, directing officials to ensure timely completion without compromising standards. The facility, which will feature multiple floors, aims to serve as a key support center for Assam residents visiting the capital. This project is part of the Assam government's broader initiative to enhance infrastructure for official delegations and strengthen the state's presence in New Delhi.

New Delhi, May 24: On Sunday, Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma conducted an inspection of the Assam Bhawan's construction progress in New Delhi, evaluating various aspects of the ongoing work.


During his visit, the Chief Minister reviewed both the speed and quality of the construction, engaging with the officials responsible for the project.


Officials provided updates on the project's current status, detailing completed work and ongoing efforts to accelerate construction while adhering to quality standards.

Sarma instructed the officials to ensure the project is completed on schedule without sacrificing quality.


Following the inspection, the Chief Minister's Office shared insights on social media, stating, “This morning, HCM Dr @himantabiswa inspected the progress of the upcoming Assam Bhawan in New Delhi. HCM reviewed all aspects of the construction and instructed officials to complete it in time and as per the quality standards.”









He also stressed the importance of following construction standards and ensuring the proper implementation of all planned facilities.


The Assam Bhawan, located on Sardar Patel Marg, will feature three basement levels, a ground floor, and six upper floors.


This facility is anticipated to serve as a vital accommodation and administrative support center for individuals from Assam visiting the national capital, thereby enhancing the state's institutional presence in New Delhi.


The project is viewed as a significant infrastructure initiative by the Assam government, aimed at improving amenities for official delegations, guests, and residents from the state traveling to the capital.


During the inspection, Kavita Padmanabhan, the Resident Commissioner of Assam Bhawan, was also in attendance.
