Kavitta Verma: A Rising Star in Poetry and Acting
Kavitta Verma's Artistic Journey
Kavitta Verma, an actress and poet, recently captivated audiences with her role in Bejoy Nambiar’s Kaala on Disney+ Hotstar. Beyond her performances, she is also making waves with her literary talents. Known for her appearances in films like Policegiri, Laali Ki Shaadi Mein Laaddoo Deewana, and R… Rajkumar, Kavitta has successfully ventured into the realm of poetry and writing.
Her debut poetry collection, Tanhaiyon Se Rishte, was met with enthusiastic acclaim, solidifying her reputation as a poignant and thoughtful writer. Following this success, her new Hindi poetry anthology, Khairkwah, has garnered both critical acclaim and a warm reception from readers. Notably, Shashi Tharoor, a prolific reader who consumes around 300 books annually, has praised her work.
Reflecting on this experience, Kavitta shares, “I presented Khairkwah to Mr. Tharoor, and it was incredibly meaningful when he specifically mentioned my poem Kaala. He is exceptionally well-read, and anyone who interacts with him leaves with profound insights. His recognition is invaluable to me as a writer.”
While some perceive poetry as appealing to a limited audience, Kavitta holds a different perspective. “I believe poetry transcends niche boundaries. Many films incorporate poetic lines, and web series often weave poetry into their narratives. Songs in movies are essentially poetry brought to life. Poetry is intricately linked to our culture and emotions,” she elaborates.
Recently, Kavitta has expanded her creative repertoire by penning a love song for a prominent film platform. “This is my inaugural foray into songwriting, and it’s exhilarating to explore a new facet of creativity beyond acting. Writing brings me immense joy and allows me to connect with human emotions on a deeper level,” she reveals.
As she looks to the future, Kavitta is eager to harmonize her acting career with her literary ambitions. “I am excited about pursuing meaningful projects in both acting and writing. Creativity knows no limits, and I feel fortunate to express myself through various artistic mediums,” she concludes with enthusiasm.
