Diljit Dosanjh's Memorable Appearance on KBC

Recently, singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh infused a delightful Punjabi essence into the 17th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), hosted by the legendary Amitabh Bachchan.

In a recent episode, Diljit not only participated in the quiz but also captivated the audience with his engaging conversations and musical performances. A promotional clip shared by Sony Entertainment Television revealed that this episode is set to air on October 31. In the promo, Diljit is seen respectfully touching Amitabh Bachchan’s feet to receive his blessings, which is met with a warm embrace from the iconic actor.

One of the touching highlights occurs when Bachchan affectionately refers to Diljit as “Punjab de putra” (son of Punjab). He expressed, “Punjab de putra Diljit Dosanjh ka main hardik abhinandan karta hun.” Earlier this year, KBC celebrated its 25th anniversary, having first aired on July 3, 2000, and quickly establishing itself as one of India’s most beloved television shows. The program began as the Indian adaptation of the British series Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and marked Amitabh Bachchan’s debut on television, revitalizing his career.

Over the years, KBC has evolved beyond a mere quiz show, resonating with millions through the heartfelt stories of its contestants and unforgettable moments, including Bachchan’s famous phrase “lock kiya jaye.” The Agnipath star has been the face of the show since its inception in 2000, with only a brief interruption. Shah Rukh Khan hosted the third season in 2006, but Bachchan soon returned to reclaim his role.
