While buying gold and silver is a common practice, there are other items that can be purchased on Dhanteras that are also believed to bring good fortune.

Items to Buy on Dhanteras

Brass Utensils: Brass is associated with Lord Dhanvantari, and acquiring brass utensils on Dhanteras is thought to enhance health, prosperity, and wealth significantly.

Yellow Cowries: Cowries are linked to Goddess Lakshmi. It is recommended to buy cowries on Dhanteras, and if they are not already dyed, they should be colored with turmeric. Dhanteras 2025: This year, the Trayodashi Tithi of Krishna Paksha in the month of Kartik will commence at 12:20 PM on October 18th and will conclude at 1:53 PM on October 19th. As the Trayodashi Tithi occurs during Pradosh Kaal on October 18th, Dhanteras will be celebrated on that date.
