This event marked a pivotal moment, celebrating India's selection as the host for the Commonwealth Games 2030, which is anticipated to elevate India's status, especially the Northeast region, on the global sports stage.

Fit India Sundays on Cycle: A Nationwide Celebration

The 75th edition of Fit India Sundays on Cycle was part of a broader national initiative aimed at promoting fitness and sports engagement. On May 24, 2026, this Commonwealth Games Day edition took place at over 8,000 locations across the country, serving as a tribute to India's sporting future and the upcoming Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad in 2030.

Minister Raksha Khadse Highlights India's Preparedness

Raksha Khadse, the Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports, attended the event at IIT Guwahati as the Chief Guest, celebrating the #CWG2030InBharat initiative. She was joined by notable figures including Olympians and Commonwealth Games medallists Jayanta Talukdar and Sushila Devi Likmabam, along with Prof. Devendra Jalihal, Director of IIT Guwahati.
